From this task I am able to produce my first ideas for my music video.
This task will help me throughout the planning section as I am able to refer back to the initial ideas when I start to develop and expand the product ideas.

The ideas which I will come up with for my initial ideas and developed product ideas I will be following the conventions of form and genre throughout. It is important that I follow the conventions of form and genre throughout my ideas as this will make my pop music video successful. I will make sure that I am following the forms of conventions for a pop music video by ensuring that I apply techniques which are in a music video such as making sure that the audience view the video by watching at some parts the main singer while the song is on in the background. In order to follow conventions of genre I will make sure that there is a dance routine in the video as this is what is found in every pop music video as it keeps the viewers entertained.

Product concept feedback analysis:

From gathering my answers from my target audience I have been able to come to the conclusion of what they like to see in a music video and more importantly what they feel a successful pop music video looks like.

Detailed outline:
From completing this task of a detailed written outline I am able to write down all of my initial ideas with a bit more detail included which allows me to gain more knowledge of what my pop music video will include.

The pitch for the music video:

By completing the pitch for my pop music magazine I am able to know who is the owner of Beyonce Single Ladies which are the Universal Music group. Now I know who I am addressing the pitch to I am able to look at all the other pop music videos which are owned by the Universal Music Group so I can start seeing what they use for their conventions of form and genre throughout the variation of the music video.

Audience feedback for the pitch:

In order to see how my target audience feel towards my pitch I need to get some audience feedback so I know what my strong points are but also my weak points for the pitch. Overall I am still finding out what my target audience would like to see in my pop music which I will be creating.

In this task I have been able to write down what I feel will be filmed in order to make the video successful. Although these ideas are still basic and need more detail in order to get a clear picture of what needs recording for each step outline.

Script for music video:

From completing the script I am able to write down the lyrics of the song which I will be using in the video on one side and on the other side I am able to write down a brief description of what will happen. This task allows me to get an idea of which scene will link to each part of the song and how long each scene will last for.

By completing the script feedback by getting answers from my target audience I am able to see how my target audience feel after looking at my script. This allows me to get an idea of how successful the pop music video will be as the target audience are able to see briefly which scene will link with what lyrics for the duration on the video.

Completing the task of my story boards it has allowed me to get a better detailed description of what each shot I need to film looks like in order to succeed in my pop music video.

The animatic is all of my story boards arranged in the correct sequence for my music video and it plays to the length of the song Single Ladies. However, due to some technical issue the song doesn't play in the background.


In this task of the shot list I am able to create a table as shown above including how many shots I will shoot for the video, what the shot angle and movement will be for each shot, the length of each shot and any notes which I will need to know before I shoot each individual shot.

  Location scouting:
I have chosen to use these three locations for my pop music video as I feel these are the most conventional for the video. I feel the location setting of the girls bedroom is conventional as the decorations in the bedroom are conventional for a typical teenage girl as it is pink with a pretty wall sticker design on one wall and the other wall has a pretty wallpaper design. The boys bedroom is also conventional because it has the typical teenage boy bedroom design of his favourite football team as his wallpaper and then a football stadium on the other wall.


Ancillary mood board:

The mood board allows me to see what props, costumes and settings I will be using throughout the video in order to make it successful.

Ancillary draft layouts:
I am able to get a preview of what my ancillary products for  my music video. When it comes to creating the actual ancillary products I know how to create it and now need to decide images which will be added on there.



production schedule:

I have completed this task of a production schedule so I have a rough plan of what I will be filming what week, where I will be filming the shot, what props I need for this scene and who will actually be in this scene. This schedule allows me to have a basic idea of equipment and props which will be needed but obviously I will develop the ideas when beginning to film as I will be able to see what looks effective for each scene and what doesn't look effective.

Visual planing:

 The visual planning task has allowed me to develop my production schedule more as I can re-think what will be successful for my music video by choosing my locations, costumes, props and casting carefully.

Audience feedback on planning:

After completing my planning research for my brief ideas but enough so my target audience can comment on how they feel successful my video will be. The feedback which I have gained from my target audience has allowed me to learn what they feel is successful for my music video and because of that I have taken on their advice to make sure my music video appeals to my target audience.

Lyric analysis of Single Ladies:

I did the task of the lyric analysis because I feel that understanding the lyrics to the song Single Ladies will allow me to base my music video ideas linked to the song. This will allow a convention of genre to  be carried out.

Band artist profile:

The task of band/artist profile allowed me to gain an in-depth understanding of what the two main characters will be wearing, the details of the character, the role they will be playing throughout the music video and the characteristic's that each character has. This has allowed me to learn that my characters have different personalities which will make the video more entertaining for my target audience to watch.

email inquiring about using Single Ladies:
In this task I have had to send an email to the owners of the song Single Ladies by Beyonce to see if I am allowed to use this song for my music video as the song is copyrighted and therefore I need permission.

Risk assessment:

I have created a risk assessment so I am aware that there may be some issues when recording and will need to bare this in mind so nobody is hurt.

Ancillary planning Production schedule:



I have completed this task because this gives me an idea of what ancillary product I will be creating and what I will need in order to prepare my ancillary products.
Font analysis:

Using different fonts has allowed me to see what looks effective and will make sure that because I am now aware what fonts look effective this allows me to use specific fonts for my ancillary products to make it successful.

I have created draft layouts for my ancillary products because this allows me to get a brief idea of what each ancillary product layout should look like. Also it allows me to know what I should be including when creating my ancillary products.
